Mantus Snubber Pendant

The Mantus Snubber Pendant is designed to attach the snubber line to chain/or line rode. It is made from UHMWPE fiber (Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene fiber) material known to be size for size as strong as steel. We have two designs of the Snubber Pendant.

The Mantus Snubber Pendant is available in two options:

• Soft shackle closure – While many sailors use chain hooks to attach snubber to chain, others prefer to tie a rolling hitch directly onto the chain rode. The advantage of the Mantus Snubber Pendant is that it is easier to tie and much easier to remove after any significant loading. A single cow hitch is used to lash chain as in the picture above. Soft shackle closure is used to attach and remove from the snubber. Further, the Snubber Pendant can be used on line rode as well by simply tying a 3-pass prusik knot. Thus, smaller boats that have mostly line anchor rode can still attach the bridle using the Snubber Pendant.
• Two eye design – This design is best used to easily attach chain hook or mooring snap shackle to the snubber and easily exchange between the two. Using a cow hitch knot you can lash on the chain hook or easily exchange for a mooring snap shackle if planning on mooring.
