BSB Marine Fire Dampers

Established in 1980, BSB Engineering Services specialise in the design, manufacture and distribution of air, fire and smoke control products. They have over 60 years of expertise in the fire damper market supplying all types of buildings and marine vessels.

Marine Products Direct and BSB work together and have the technical knowledge required to assist you with meeting marine safety requirements supported by our wealth of knowledge and library of product installation guidelines.

Based in Sittingbourne, Kent, United Kingdom BSB manufacturing plant has been purposely designed with build-to-order flow manufacturing where raw steel materials enter the production area and through engineered processes, the final assembled damper arrives in the structured despatch area ready for loading that night for next day delivery to most areas. This process enables them to quickly respond to order requests with an industry leading lead time of 8-12 days from placement of order.

BSB are ISO9001 UKAS Accredited; Investors in People; FETA; Smoke Control Association; ASFP; ADCAS; HEVAC; MED (Marine Equipment Directive 2014/90/EU) certified for A60 fire performance.

BSB A60 Multiblade Marine Fire Damper

BSB Marine A60 fire dampers are passive fire protection products used in the marine industry to prevent the spread of fire. Marine fire dampers are used in air conditioning and ventilation ductwork onboard ships, yachts, ferries, military vessels and offshore rigs and platforms to prevent the spread of fire. In the event of a fire the dampers will close automatically, preventing additional oxygen to enter the space to fuel and spread a fire. BSB fire dampers have been tested and are type-approved according to A-0 (A-60).

The BSB A60 Multiblade Marine Fire Damper is designed for use in marine applications to protect the integrity of fire rated bulkheads and decks. Each A60 damper is controlled by an electrical failsafe spring return actuator combined with a thermoelectric tripping device (thermal fuse) and volt free contacts for remote status indication.

The A60 damper can be used where the maximum system pressure is 2000 Pa and duct velocities do not exceed 20 m/s.

The A60 Marine Fire Damper has been tested in accordance with EN1751 with case leakage conforming to classes A, B and C and closed blade leakage to class B.

The A-60 Marine Fire Damper is suitable for both vertical and horizontal applications, with airflow in either direction and meets the standards; MED (Marine Equipment Directive 2014/90/EU) certified for A60 fire performance and conforms to the current Commission Implementing Regulation.

Environmental

BSB recognises the need to preserve resources and reduce emissions and are actively working towards and introducing more efficient ways of manufacturing.

BSB supports and recommends that good waste management practice be adopted on all new and refurbishment projects, regardless of size. This not only reduces emissions, preserves raw materials and saves energy, but also reduces costs long term. BSB are proud that their dampers are 95% minimum recyclable.
