The Helly Hansen Rider Buoyancy Aid rates at the level 50N buoyancy category. Level 50N category buoyancy aids are designed to keep the wearer afloat, but not to turn a person from a face/down position in the water. This level is ideal for sailors or water sport participants in sheltered waters or where help is close at hand. However, they do not have sufficient buoyancy to protect a person who is unable to help themselves.

Soft foam at the front improves comfort for the wearer. whilst PE foam at the back increases stability when in the water, a flare pocket on the front is an essential safety feature if doing water sports on your own.
